Flushed and beautiful
And sometimes I catch myself in a mirror
Usually, when this happens, I get irritated
Picking out all the flaws
My makeup is not right
Or my hair is amuck
But on rare days, do I see
my cheeks, perfectly flushed from the cold
my skin, clear and full of glow
my eyes, alive and radiating sunshine
And then I remember
Who I am
How did I ever let mediocre men
decide what beauty is
I never believed anyone when they told me that I was beautiful
But I always believed them when they thought that I wasn’t enough
So look in the mirror more than once
You can remember that
Not only are you exquisite,
you are infinite
