The longer I live
The longer I live, the more I realize that
the crunching of leaves
is one of the most beautiful sounds
in the entire world
Or how perfectly the colors frame the gray
of life's woes and invite you
to take a step back,
or two
Because it's all about the little things:
stumbling upon a hidden spot,
discovering the richest spice at the corner shop,
seeing the sunset while riding your bike
and catching that glint in the sky
that looks exactly like your eyes
It's the vividness of these moments
that pull us back to life,
and remind us to focus on the present
to hold on, because each breath,
comes just once,
and once only.
